Loud chills were heard and hundreds of cameras were clicking from the audience as the good-looking 6Ense boys entered the Mambajao, Maasin City Gym. Earlier, on that fiesta visperas day, they made courtesy calls to the City Hall and provincial government officials. Mayor Nacional “Nikko” Mercado even sampled with them a short tiktok to the tune of Paligoy-ligoy, an OPM.
The 6Ense (pronounced, 6th sense) is a P-Pop sing and dance boy group who recently debuted in the Philippine music scene with their electrifying rendition of H.U.G., acronym for All the Hate U Give to me. The group originated with the discovery of Wiji by its co-founder and talent manager Kiko Soto. Wiji, of Quezon City who became the leader and lead vocalist, recruited seven other members: Sevi of Ilocos Norte (center and lead dancer), Drew of Cavite (lead dancer), Pen of Bulacan (main dancer), Lee of Taytay Rizal (lead vocals and visual), Jai of Manila (main rapper), Asa of Alfonso Cavite (lead vocals), and Clyn of Makati (lead rapper).
As members of this charming group handed promotional materials on the streets of Manila, Jemuel Segales Luciano saw them and was impressed by their dedication – encouraged and invited them to perform in Southern Leyte for wider exposure of their talents. Jemuel is a classical music singer and cinema actor who owns the Artista Beauty Salon and Spa. Thus, a month after their debut at the Music Museum in April 2024, the 6Ense performed in a jam-packed Mambajao Maasin Gym, the Southern Leyte State University Main Campus,  and Maripipi, Biliran on
May 24, 2024.
In a press media conference at Southern Leyte Times, the members of this boy group freely expressed their thoughts on their advocacy and the essence of their existence. That all people are interconnected by 6 degrees and should be able to understand each other. And, delving on the knowledge that man has five senses, it is this P-Pop group’s purpose for us to discover and experience that 6th sense through their music.
Right now, Wiji, who is also the songwriter-composer of their original songs, divulged that he is finishing the melody of a song that he plans to title as Ibarra. He revealed that he can already identify who in the group is suited to sing particular lines. And in terms of the lyrics, the members themselves give their suggestions.
The 6Ense hopes to help continue pave the way to the young people of the future generations in showcasing positively their own talents for themselves, their country, and to the world. (GMReyes)
