Agriculture, business, and legal experts recently met at the Villa Romana Hotel in Maasin City to discuss possible solutions for the low production of rice, vegetables, and fruits in Southern Leyte, as well as rising inflation. The group suggested government support for subsidized farm products transportation and stronger partnerships between local businesses and farmers. The steps aim to increase local food production, strengthen the local economy, and help stabilize prices in the province. Attendees included Former DPWH Secretary Atty. Roger G. Mercado, Dr. Gloria M. Reyes, Atty. Wowie Reyes, Ms. Ida Sy-Monzon and Atty. Vincent Rodas. The group plans to collaborate with local stakeholders to bring these strategies into action.
