The Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) Civil Engineering Department made history by producing its first topnotcher in a civil engineering licensure examination. He is Engineer Jason T. Bordas. His high rating of 92.20% enabled him to place 4th in the rigorous national examination.
A total of 33 SLSU examinees passed the November 2024 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination. SLSU obtained 54.10% passing rate, compared to the national passing rate of 37.07%.
With this achievement, SLSU ranks 2nd in Region 8, in terms of average passing percentage.
