Business leaders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao gathered at the 49th Philippine Business Conference in Manila Hotel from October 24 to October 26, 2023, with the theme “Vision 2050: The Philippines A First World Economy.”
Visionary man, Architect Felino A. Palafox, Jr., drummed that this vision is achievable for the Philippines if the challenges are addressed, and plans and benchmarking of best practices around the globe are implemented effectively. He cited the Philippines natural resources, human capital and strategic location among the country’s advantages.
Philippine Chamber of Commerce president George T. Barcelon also emphasized the importance of ironclad collaboration between the private sector, government and civil societies to achieve this vision of among the Top 20 Economies in the World by 2050.
Meanwhile Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte personally launched the MATATAG Agenda of the Department of Education at the 49th PBC and Expo at the Manila Hotel last October 25, 2023. The agenda is called Basic Education Development which has four initiatives: curriculum, teacher welfare, infrastructure and technology.
“Quality education provided to Filipino youth plays an important role in shaping, their future; it’s the foundation for the development of human capital, the country’s greatest resource.
