The College of Maasin shows excellence in the results of two national examinations – the 2024 Bar Examination and the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, both released on December 13, 2024.
The College of Maasin (CM), Southern Leyte’s only institution in the province offering a Law program, produced three new lawyers in this year’s batch: Atty. Jeselo Gorme, Atty. Maricel Ellacer-Bowers, and Atty. Rowena Galdo-Garde.
Among the trio, two passed the Bar on their first attempt, while one demonstrated remarkable perseverance as a re-taker, showcasing that determination and hard work pay off.
The national bar examination 2024 passing rate is 37.84%, with 3,962 successful examinees nationwide out of 10,490 takers.
The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT)-Secondary Level was conducted last September, 2024. In this examination, one first-time examinee from the College of Maasin succeeded, and one of the two re-takers also passed the LEPT examination. The first time successful taker is Michael C. Lardizabal.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced the results of the highly anticipated September 2024 Licensure Exam for Teachers on December 13, 2024. This year’s LET recorded a national passing rate of 53.03%, with 68,900 successful examinees out of 129,928 test takers.
Of the total LET passers, 20,025 elementary teachers and 48,875 secondary teachers earned their professional teaching licenses. Notably, 16,340 elementary passers and 41,190 secondary passers were first-timers, while the rest showcased admirable perseverance as repeaters. (DYbañez, RMReyes)
