Coral geographer, an Australian ship of Coral Expeditions cruise line, is scheduled to visit in Padre Burgos and Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte around the first week of November.

The ship is expected to bring an estimated 120 visitors to Eastern Visayas. Other beautiful places that the tourists will visit are Higatangan Island in Naval, Maripipi and Sambawan in Biliran, Biri Island and Lalaguna Mangrove Eco-Park in Northern Samar, and Cuatro Islas in Leyte.

In November last year, the cruise ship came to Limasawa Island, known as a place where the First Easter Mass in the Philippines was held, and noted for its rich marine biodiversity.

Cruise tourism in Eastern Visayas is a growing industry offering guests with varied fun activities like snorkeling, sea swimming and partaking of local food and delicacies while at the same time observing local ways and cultural traditions. Cruise ships visit the region with 100 to 600 visitors.

Popular cruise ships’ stops are Kalanggaman Island and Cuatro Islas in Leyte province, Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte, and Capul Island in Northern Samar.

Newly included places of interest are Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte; Canigao Island, Tacloban City, and Palo in Leyte; Maripipi and Sambawan in Biliran; and Biri Island in Northern Samar. (GMR, Source: PNA)
