“There is no place like home” for proprietors Dinah Amora Magat and June Semilla who are known to dish-out delectable food ever since they were in Seoul, Korea. June Semilla was awarded and cited for his kare-kare dish by the Culinary Arts in Asian Cooking, Seoul, Korea and the Global Hospitality Magazine.
Cusina Restaurant Catering and Events first opened its diner before the pandemic hit the businesses, but had to suspend its operation for a while. It has recently reopened in another place located along Espina Boulevard, Tunga-tunga, Maasin City, behind the Maasin City post office near the Philippine National Bank and Maasin City Hall.
Cusina now has an airy and classy-casual ambiance housed in a cozy, modern native setting fronting the sea. She serves Filipino, Korean and Japanese cuisine. Among the customers’ favorite dishes are gyoza (Japanese dumpling), cordon bleu, kare-kare, and kimchi.
Dinah is an active officer of the Southern Leyte Chamber of Commerce, Incorporated. She said that members of SLCCI are welcome to make the place their home base.
