DOLE and Ang Probinsyano Party List extend assistance to 2,500 workers

The Ang Probinsyano Party List (APPL) held last week the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Pay-out and Cash Assistance Program to more than 2,500 beneficiaries in Jiabong and Paranas, Western Samar. Represented by its Chief-of-Staff Edward Delos Santos, the program extended assistance to 755 beneficiaries in Jiabong, distributed payouts to 1,374 in Paranas, and cash assistance to 390 barangay health workers in both municipalities.
TUPAD is the flagship program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in assisting displaced and disadvantaged workers, giving priority to those relieved from their jobs due to the pandemic. More than a year since the pandemic, there is still much difficulty for job seekers to find work, thus the program was formed to intervene and support them amidst these trying times.
Maricel Abayan, a resident of brgy. Poblacion-6, Paranas, expressed her gratefulness to the Partylist and DOLE, “Nagpasalamat po talaga ako sa Ang Probinsyano Partylist at sa Labor Department sa kanilang programang TUPAD. Dahil dito po, may tulong na nakarating sa amin na maitatawid ang kailangan ng aming pamilya. Malaking tulong po talaga ito.”
