In celebration of its 127th founding anniversary, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Southern Leyte 1st District Engineering Office joined the nationwide simultaneous tree planting activity on June 11, 2025, which is also marked as Arbor Day.
Around 1,000 seedlings were planted at Danao Forest Park in Brgy. Malapoc Norte, led by Assistant DPWH District Engineer Gideon C. Sacro, and in coordination with the DENR-PENRO.
“This initiative promotes environmental sustainability, enhances biodiversity, and helps combat climate change,” said Sacro. He added that the activity aims to instill environmental responsibility among DPWH personnel. (DYbañez, Source: DPWH-SL1DEO)
