Giob wows Disneyland

“Just follow your dreams, whatever they are, and believe in yourself because it’s never too late for you to start,” said Giob, a 29-year-old artist.

A graduate of Architecture at University of San Carlos, Giovanni “Giob” Rodriguez, who hails from Mantahan, Maasin City, Southern Leyte, has a simple life before.

He started singing at two years old, and believes that his talent comes from his mother and father who are both singers.

He is the youngest of three children of Ma. Lucille Rodriguez, a housewife, and father Osias Rodriguez, a retired government employee.
Giob started his singing career when his aunt pushed him to sing in pageant events in Maasin City.

From then on, he went to Manila and became part of Ang Huling El Bimbo Musical, Prince Siddharta the Musical, and Song of Solomon Dumaguete Premiere as a theater cast actor.

He also worked in GMA 7, in 2020 All out Sundays, on a mini-musical sitcom called “Tapsikret”, in which he worked with Glaiza De Castro, Paolo Contis, Kakay Bautista and many more.

His job was cut during the pandemic; his All-out Sundays guesting stopped, then he returned home, jobless but never lost hope.

Luckily, he found an announcement on social media about Hongkong Disneyland is looking for vocalist for a new show. In his two days of auditioning Giob was accepted.
He is now working for one year and two months as a lead singer of the New Castle show “Follow your Dreams” in Hongkong Disneyland.
