Government employee seized in drug bust operation

An alleged suspect listed as a High Valued Individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy bust operation at Poblacion, Padre Burgos, on March 3, 2023.
Police identified as a 41-year-old, government employee, married, and a resident of the said barangay.
The alleged suspect was caught after the poseur-buyer was able to buy one (1) piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu in consideration of one thousand pesos (P1,000.00).
Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were: two (2) pcs small size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” with an estimated value of P6,000; P1,000 bills served as buy-bust money; one (1) unit Itel cellphone; cash money amounting to Php779.00 in different denominations.
Inventory of the confiscated items was conducted at the place of arrest in the presence of Jade G Nombrado ,media representative; Aldrin Gilles and Mervin Catig both elected public officials of Brgy. Poblacion, Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte.
The suspect was arrested by joint elements of elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) RO VIII-SLPO led by IAI Norman H. Sulla (Lead Unit), personnel of Padre Burgos MPS, and Regional Intelligence Unit.
The suspect will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 and is detained temporarily at Padre Burgos MPS Lock-Up Facility.
