Libagon receives livelihood grant

The local government of Libagon recently received a livelihood grant of Php 3 million through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood Program. This livelihood grant will fund 24 individual livelihood proposals and 6 group livelihood projects with beneficiaries ranging from farmers, fishermen, women’s association, vegetable growers, self-employed individuals, solo parents, and other marginalized groups. The project proposals include egg layering, fishery production, grocery store, tables and chairs rental, dressmaking, hog raising, viand/BBQ/streetfood vending, rice retailing, sari-sari store, and motorcab parts and accessories.
Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 8 Regional Director Atty. Dax B. Villaruel said that DOLE is willing to fund more livelihood programs if the above undertakings will be successful.


DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program, known as Kabuhayan Program, is to help vulnerable individuals and groups to start a livelihood project, expand, or upgrade an existing project, re-establish existing livelihood projects destroyed by disasters, or help community enterprises. (Source: DOLE)
