Maasin City is blossoming into a food capital with many establishments opening as soon as restrictions on the movement of people started to loosen up. The alert level was lowered when occurrences of covid infection have tapered down and more have been vaccinated.
One grandiose place, the Mahayahay Restaurant, held its soft opening last Tueday, November 30, 2021. Several famous families of Maasin City were there to dine in the delicious Eat-All-You-Can food priced at P299 per plate. Beautiful acoustic music was provided by Peter Dejarme, formerly a lead guitarist of South Border band in Manila, and singers who are friends of the owners’ son, TJ.
Mahayahay Restaurant is located along the national highway in a 5,000 square meter property that features a big tilapia fish pond. Abigail Daclan and Edwin Timothy Palermo own the restaurant alongside with a farm that has quail, turkey, native chicken, pigs and vegetables. Their children who actively participate in this venture are Ed Timothy, Abby Dyanne, Gayle Ruth, Darrah Fame, and Timothy James.
The restaurant opens to the public on December 6, 2021.
