Some places in Southern Leyte showcased their opening of majestic lighting with a twist this month of December, as they celebrated the most wonderful time of the year.
Three of the most awaited places, lit their festival of lights early in November and first week of December, namely: Sogod, Maasin City and the provincial capitol.
Sogod, as one of the biggest towns in the province, lit its magnificent wave of lights last November 25 with joyous celebration of searching for The Voice Sogod, and free-strolling on agri-fairs and night market.
In Maasin City, residents, visitors and children enjoyed roaming around the Anatalio Gaviola Plaza to watch picturesque Disney characters, including Moana, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, and were awe-inspired by a gigantic Christmas tree. The activity started with a countdown to the opening of lights and eventually of the colourful fireworks.
The provincial government also lit their Disney wonderland showcasing various Disney figures and characters, gigantic Christmas tree and Filipino traditional Christmas colourful parols last December 5, at the Capitol building.
In Silago, their Christmas was nothing like their bright and colourful Christmas trees from different barangays made of recycled materials like plastic bottles, wrappers, coconut husk and many more.
Tomas Oppus town also displayed its shining tunnel of hearts, similar to the one seen in Libagon.
