Oplan Balik Eskwela kicks-off

In preparation for the smooth opening of classes for School Year 2024-2025, the Department of Education (DepEd), led by Schools Division Superintendent Josilyn S. Solana, EdD, Ceso V, along with officials and representatives from various government agencies, converged today, July 26, 2024, at the Old DPWH Office, Asuncion, Maasin City, Southern Leyte. The goal was to ensure the successful implementation of the 2024 Oplan Balik Eskwela.
Lyna M. Gayas, Administratice Officer V, Information Officer of Southern Leyte Division Office, emphasized the implementation of Oplan Balik Eskwela, an inter-agency partnership aimed at benefiting students. This program helps prevent issues such as heavy traffic, power and water supply shortages, and order disruptions due to misuse events. DepEd expects and hopes that classrooms and other school facilities will be ready, there will be no illegal collections in public schools, and there will be quick responses to issues raised by parents and school authorities. Public transportation should be accessible and available, prices of school supplies should remain stable, and there should be a steady supply of essential items. The program also includes correct and updated weather monitoring, a massive information drive to protect students from diseases, and available medical and emergency services. Local government units and the community are expected to coordinate and support these efforts.
Each agency representative also shared insights and affirmed their commitment and support to the DepEd of the Southern Leyte Division as the agency strives to develop strategies to provide quality services in preparing for the opening of classes and ensuring education for all.
The official start of classes for the academic year 2024-2025 under Oplan Balik Eskwela is set for July 29, 2024, in the province of Southern Leyte. (AVista)
