The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Southern Leyte recently concluded the 35th Civil Registration Month with an event highlighting the 2024 audit findings and achievements at Ataviado Hall, SJC, Maasin City, recognizing the contributions of Local Civil Registrars (LCRs) in the province.
The audit of Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) is a crucial process conducted by the PSA to ensure proper maintenance and safeguarding of civil registry documents, assess
compliance with laws, policies, and procedures, and identify areas for improvement in civil
registration operations. In line with this, PSA Southern Leyte has successfully completed the audit of all 19 LCROs in Southern Leyte.
As part of this process, PSA Southern Leyte conducted random checks and field visits
to evaluate the efficiency and accuracy of civil registry operations. The findings of this audit
will reinforce best practices, enhance data integrity, and improve public service delivery
in civil registration across the province.
Several LCROs received recognition, including Hinunangan for Excellence in Birth Registration Assistance Project; Bontoc, Silago, San Francisco, Hinunangan, Limasawa, Liloan, and Pintuyan for Most Client-Friendly Civil Registry Office; and Liloan, Padre Burgos, Sogod, Limasawa, Pintuyan, Maasin City, Hinundayan, Libagon, Macrohon, and San Ricardo for Timely and Accurate Civil Registration Reports.
Outstanding LCROs of Southern Leyte included Macrohon, Saint Bernard, Hinunangan, Limasawa, Hinundayan, Libagon, Maasin City, San Juan, San Francisco, Pintuyan, and Sogod. The Service Delivery Commitment Award was given to Anahawan, Bontoc, Liloan, Malitbog, Padre Burgos, San Ricardo, Silago, and Tomas Oppus, while Hinunangan was named Most Improved LCRO.
Macrohon received awards for Best Civil Registration Month Celebration and Best Civil Registration Information Dissemination. Outstanding Support for the National ID Program was awarded to Limasawa, Libagon, Hinundayan, Pintuyan, Sogod, Bontoc, Macrohon, and Hinunangan, while Outstanding Conduct of Mobile Registrations went to Maasin City, Macrohon, and Saint Bernard.
The Top Performer Local Civil Registrars of Southern Leyte were Catalina L. Esquijo (Saint Bernard), Victoria B. Calvar (Hinundayan), Anacleta R. Tumamak (Limasawa), Arnie V. Estillore (Hinunangan), Jenny F. Ang (Maasin), and Armeda S. Maitem (Macrohon).
Victoria B. Calvar of Hinundayan also received the Leadership Service Award for her role in the Association of Civil Registrars in Southern Leyte.
Armeda S. Maitem, Municipal Civil Registrar of Macrohon, was honored with the prestigious 2024 Excellence in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Award.
