A health caravan was recently conducted by Philippine Red Cross (PRC)- Southern Leyte Chapter in partnership with Lifebank Foundation at Barangay Abgao Gym, Maasin City. There was free health consultation and provision of medicines plus other services such as lectures on health, blood typing, and hot meals.
A total of 307 individuals from 6 barangays were served. Other partners of the said event were the PRC NHQ led by Chairman Richard J. Gordon and Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn T. Pang; medical doctors from the Maasin City Health Unit CHU), Southern Leyte provincial hospital, volunteer nurses from Bureau of Fire Protection Maasin City and CHU, Health Services Team led by Lonica Pajulion and Patricia Perez, and the PRC-SL staff and volunteers.
In Southern Leyte, Lifebank is located at Purok Sambag, Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City. This is a nationwide partnership with Philippine Red cross, and PRC-SL is one of the 17 Chapters selected for a Health Caravan Medical Mission. (GMR, Source: PRC-SL)
