Robbery posts highest rate

The Southern Leyte Provincial Police Office (SLPPO) reported, during the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 3rd Quarter Meeting, that Robbery occurrences as of August this year have already surpassed last year’s number of robberies. There were 11 reported robberies in 2022, while there had already been 14 robbery incidents reported from January to August, 2023. The data shows that there is an increasing trend.
In the list, the total crime incidents under peace and order indicator showed that Rape incidents decreased this year. In 2022, Rape posted 27 incidents, while as of August 2023 there were 16 incidents. Next is Theft, from 14 incidents last year to 9 reported cases this year.
Physical Injuries, serious or slight incidents had 12 reported cases last year to nine incidents this year. Murder recorded three cases last year, and three murder cases this year.
Meanwhile, for Homicide or killing of one human being by another, there were two cases this year compared to one case last year.
There was also one Carnapping of a motorcycle incident last year, and one for this year.; and zero case for Carnapping MV or carnapping of a motor vehicle for both years.
