The Awayon Farmers Association (AFA) in Brgy. Mercedes, Silago, Southern Leyte, initially harvested 108 kilos of marketable-sized tilapia on January 31, 2025.
The provincial government provided 5,000 tilapia fry, 1 bag of fry booster, 3 bags of pre-starter feed, and 30 bags of tilapia feed, totaling Php 54,000.00, with members contributing additional feeds as their counterpart. After four months of culture, an estimated 400 kilos of tilapia remain for future harvests.
