SLPPO leads candidates forum, unity walk

The Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO), Maasin City Police Station and various government and community stakeholders spearheaded a Unity Walk, Interfaith Rally, Covenant Signing, and Candidates’ Forum for the 2025 National and Local Elections on March 11, 2025, at Combado Gym, Maasin City.


The event began with a unity walk from City Plaza to Combado Gym, symbolizing the collective commitment to a peaceful and transparent electoral process. The activity was led by PCOL Raymundo P. Graveles, Chief of RIDMD, alongside PLTCOL Mark N. Nalda, Officer-in-Charge of Maasin CPS. Among other key participants were Atty. Antonio G. Gulay Jr., Provincial Election Supervisor of COMELEC Southern Leyte; Atty. Don Joshua D. Margate of COMELEC Maasin City; LTJG Michael U. Tuyay of the Philippine Coast Guard; LTC Edgar A. Gabia of the 14IB PA; Dr. Josilyn Solana from the Department of Education; Dir. Danilo A. Laguitan, Provincial Director of DILG Southern Leyte; and Ms. Bennites Gido, CLGOO of DILG Maasin City. Also present were religious leaders, political candidates, barangay captains, members of KARANCHO led by Engr. Jose Dimson S. Gementiza, President of the Maasin Chapter, and criminology intern students from Saint Jose0h College.

The Interfaith Rally featured prayers from Pastor Eric Capistrano of Bible Baptist Church and Rev. Fr. John Clyde Avelino of Assumption in the Hills Parish. Atty. Antonio G. Gulay Jr. led the reading and signing of the Integrity Pledge, with political candidates and stakeholders vowing to uphold fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout the electoral process.
