The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Southern Leyte 1st District Engineering Office is undertaking a major asphalt overlay project to enhance road conditions and ensure safer, smoother travel along the national road in Maasin City.
The project, spanning 10 kilometers and costing Php96.5 million, focuses on the four-lane national road in Barangays Panan-awan and Tawid. In addition to the asphalt overlay, the initiative includes installing solar LED streetlights and road markings to improve visibility and provide critical guidance for drivers and pedestrians, particularly at night or in poor visibility conditions.
“This asphalt overlay project aims to enhance the longevity and safety of our road infrastructure. Traveler safety remains our top priority,” DPWH said. (Source: DPWH-SLDEO)
