SOGOD, Southern Leyte – The fire in Sogod town blazed the social media with live video coverage on October 22, 2023.
The Sogod Fire Station, as reported, received a call from a concerned citizen about a fire incident at 5:40 in the afternoon involving an educational establishment on the third floor of a building at Brgy. Zone 2, Sogod, damaging the building with computers, bondpapers, electric fans, and kitchen utensils, among other things.
The Sogod, Bontoc and Libagon Fire Stations quickly responded to the fire incident. And by 6:50 in the evening, the fire was controlled and declared out.
“We should really be careful nowadays because fire incidents and fire can happen and spread easily due to our high heat index,” said F/Insp. Alberto Siega, Municipal Fire Marshal of Sogod Fire Station. The cause of fire is still under investigation.
