The Southern Leyte Electric Company (SOLECO) recently informed its consumer members that the electricity tariff for the month of SEPTEMBER 2023 is now P12.4677 per kilowatt hour (kWhr) consumption compared to the tariff for the month of AUGUST 2023 which was P12.5834 per kWhr consumption. There is a decrease of P0.1157 per kWhr.
The reason for the decrease in the electricity tariff is the decrease in GOVERNMENT CHARGES, OTHER CHARGES and POWER COST which consist of generation charge and transmission charge, according to SOLECO.
The electric company’s General Manager Jonathan Empeño commented that this downtrend will depend on the lowering of prices for coal and fuel products.
The downtrend of electricity started early this year, starting from P14 kWhr last June, 2023 to P13 per kWhr last July, 2023.
In September, 2022 electricity rate was high at P19.5536 per kWhr.
The Office of SOLECO continues to explain to its members and consumers to always conserve electricity in order to avoid high electricity bills.
Electricity bill payment can be made online through PAYMAYA, GCASH and other accredited EC PAY payment centers.
