Southern Leyte joins 73 places on Alert Level 2

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque named Southern Leyte as among the 73 places that are on Alert Level 2 starting November 21 until November 30, 2021, based on a resolution passed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
Local tourists in Southern Leyte would only need a vaccination card for fully vaccinated individuals, valid ID and QR code of the province, or a barangay Health Declaration Form signed by the BHERTS, ID and QR code.
Non-APORs or travelers for leisure, recreation, pilgrimage or tourism purposes from Luzon, Mindanao, and Visayas must present upon entry either of the following: vaccination card for fully-vaccinated individuals or Bureau of Quarantine Certification, valid ID, QR code of the province and Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the LGU of final destination; or S-Pass with valid ID and QR Code of the province or Saliva/swab specimen in Reverse Transcription – Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Negative Result within 5 days validity and LOA.
Provincial tourism staff Jeanette Navarete in an interview said that some municipalities in the province would require a Letter of Acceptance from the LGU of final destination for above-cited travelers.
With Southern Leyte, the following areas that are also placed under Alert Level 2: Metro Manila; Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Dagupan and Ilocos Norte in Region I; Tacloban, Southern Leyte, Samar (Western Samar), Ormoc City, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte and Biliran in Region VIII; South Cotabato, Sarangani, General Santos City, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato (North Cotabato).
Meanwhile, government and health authorities continue to monitor so that the easing of restrictions would not result to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
