Southern Leyte is still on Modified General Community Quarantine from August 1 to August 30, as stated by Governor Damian Mercado, in a Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force Meeting in zoom last July 28. However, health and safety protocols are still strictly enforced.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Feliciano Matibag also revealed during the meeting that Southern Leyte has a total of 91 deaths of confirmed cases; Maasin City has the higher death cases; next is Sogod, 13; Macrohon and Padre Burgos had 8; 7 from Libagon; 5 from Hinundayan; 4 from Tomas Oppus, Saint Bernard, San Juan and Liloan; 3 from Hinunangan and Malitbog; and 2 from Bontoc town.
