The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has distributed a total of 223 land titles to farmer beneficiaries in Southern Leyte.
Distributed by the agrarian reform agency were 128 Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOA) and 95 Farmer Business School (FBS) certificates.
The titles were received by beneficiaries coming from the towns of Silago, 28; Hinunangan, 100; Liloan, 2; Macrohon, 18; Malitbog, 8; Pintuyan, 6; St. Bernard, 6; San Francisco, 22; San Juan, 2; Tomas Oppus 4, and Maasin City, 24.
The land titles were distributed last January 26 in Tolosa and July 7 in Tacloban City this year.
The land titles were distributed to the farmer-beneficiaries relative to the signing of a new law, the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, that condones farmers’ debts which include unpaid amortizations interest payments, surcharges and penalties of existing loans of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.
