The 2021 pilot barangays in the province are: Pasay, Maasin City; Catublian, Hinunangan; Nahulid, Libagon; Pres. Quezon, Liloan; Triana, Limasawa; Sindangan, Macrohon; Poblacion, Padre Burgos; Ponod, Pintuyan; Panian, Saint Bernard; San Jose(Poblacion), San Juan, Cabalian; Bitoon, San Ricardo; Zone 1(Poblacion), Sogod and Cambite (Poblacion), Tomas Oppus.
The above mentioned 13 barangays passed all the 3 core areas, namely: Safety, Peace and Order; Financial Administration and Sustainability; and Disaster Preparedness. In addition, they also passed at least one among the three essential areas, namely: Social Protection and Sensitivity; Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; and Environment Management.
It is an assessment that gives barangay distinction for the remarkable performance across governance areas, putting primacy on integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy, (DILG MC No. 2021-074).
