SOGOD, Southern Leyte – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sogod continues its partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for the Food Security Program on Agri-Aquaculture. On March 23, 2025, the Sogod Tilapia Hatchery distributed tilapia fingerlings, funded by both the LGU and BFAR, to boost sustainable aquaculture and support local livelihood.
Ten beneficiaries from Barangay Kauswagan received fingerlings at the hatchery in LP Concepcion, Sogod.
The dispersal program is a monthly activity that benefit selected recipients based on submitted requests and assessed needs. The program aims to promote food security and provide income opportunities for aspiring and active tilapia farmers in the municipality.
