The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office VIII granted P1 million to Southern Leyte State University-Hinunangan Campus for the project “STI Solutions for High Economic Value Agricultural Commodities in Southern Leyte,” which focuses on leveraging science and technology to enhance the market value of local farm products.
During the ceremony at SLSU Hinunangan Campus, Project leader Dr. John Paul Gapasin made a presentation highlighting the project’s potential to benefit farmers by supplying disease-free abaca planting materials and driving economic growth. Provincial S&T Director Dr. Ramil T. Uy reaffirmed DOST’s dedication to strengthening the region’s agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, Dr. Wade Lim, Campus Director, expressed optimism for future collaborations between SLSU and DOST to further science and technology-driven development in the province. (DYbañez, Source: DOST-Southern Leyte)
