On January 25, 2025, the National ID Team of Southern Leyte conducted a special house-to-house registration in Malapoc Norte, Maasin City, to assist individuals who faced difficulties with the standard registration process. Among those registered were two centenarians, Severino Gura Rejesus and Porferia Tocmo Malasaga, both 100 years old, who required National IDs for late birth registration.
The initiative highlights the team’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that even the elderly and vulnerable can benefit from the National ID program. In total, 18 individuals were registered, including the two centenarians.
The National ID program, established under Republic Act No. 11055, aims to create a unified identification system for Filipinos, facilitating easier access to public and private services. (Source and Photo by: PSA So. Leyte)
