VP Sara Duterte visits Southern Leyte

Department of Education Secretary, Vice-President Sara Zimmerman Duterte visited Southern Leyte last August 10, 2022.
On her first stop, VP Sara and officials of DepEd Southern Leyte visited Limasawa Island, one of the most hard-hit towns during Typhoon Odette last December 16, 2021 which destroyed many schools.
During their visit, the team also distributed school bags with kits to 500 students from grade 1 to grade 7.
VP Sara Duterte also joined in the celebration of the 22nd Charter Day of Maasin City.
According to VP Sara, his father’s maternal hometown is Maasin City, while her mother originally hails from Hilongos, Leyte.
VP Sara is the third female vice president, the third vice president from Mindanao, and the youngest vice president in Philippine history.
