So. Leyte Presidential survey heats up

Bongbong, Leni and Isko lead Southern Leyteño preferences

The Southern Leyte Times (SLT) recently conducted an on-line survey on people’s preference for President for the coming 2022 national elections in its social media news page last October 27 and November 24, 2021.
Emojis were randomly assigned to Manila Mayor Francisco Moreno Domagoso, Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, Senator Panfilo Lacson, Sr., former Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, Sr., and Vice-President Maria Leonor Robredo. Both local and national SLT online followers immediately responded as soon as the surveys were posted.
In the preliminary survey on October 27, before presidential aspirant Senator Bong Go filed his candidacy, the survey resulted to only 620 reactions, 26 comments, and 5 shares, showing Marcos leading the October poll with 486 care reactions, followed by Robredo with 98, Moreno with 15, Lacson with 3, and Pacquiao with 1.
Meanwhile, the survey conducted last November 24 showed a much bigger on-line interaction with 16,800 reactions; 2,700 comments, 561 shares and reached 79,150 people. The survey results showed 11,400 for Marcos; followed with 5,000 for Robredo; then 234 for Domagoso; Go got 47; Lacson Sr. had 39; and Pacquiao Sr. with 13.
Former senator Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led both the October and November on-line surveys of the Southern Leyte Times through emoji preferences on the presidential aspirants for the upcoming 2022 elections. So far the son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos holds a commanding lead. Trailing Marcos respectively are Leni Robredo, Isko Moreno, Bong Go, Ping Lacson and Manny Pacquiao in last place.
The comments section went ablast after Southern Leyteños and some supporters aired their opinions. Here are some:
“Hindi matatanggi ang bilis kilos, malasakit, tapat sa serbisyo at good governance sa pamumuno ni Yorme Isko Moreno dahil sa sipag,dedikasyon,pagmamahal,God-fearing,may mabutihing hangarin, malinis na kalooban, pagsisikap may pangarap para sa bayan, makamasa, nakikinig ng hinaing sa bawat mamamayan at makamasa tunay na leader.”
“BBM – SARA lang ang sakalam with integrity, credibility, competence and humility, BaBangon Muli – BBM,”
“Leni Robredo for me and her team. Incomparable when it comes to qualification, integrity and devotion to our country and people.”
The survey that initially started with Southern Leyteño residents immediately sweeped to different parts of the Philippine archipelago where political parties and supporters made known their preference for president either through their messages or emojis.
SLT will be conducting a similar survey next week in regards to the position of vice-president, then to local positions.
The preference survey was conducted by SLT openly through the use of emojis in the newspaper’s social media page. The newspaper survey does not in anyway indicate the exact preference of the general public, but only that of SLT’s thirty-two thousand (32,000) on-line Southern Leyteño followers.
