SOLECO increases electricity rate

Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) informed consumers that the electricity tariff starting the month of June, 2022 will increase by P1.9433 per kilowatt hour (kWhr).
In comparison, the May 2022 electricity rate was P1.50674 per kWhr of consumption. The tariff increase is P.4365 per kWhr.
The reason for the P1.9433 spike is the increase in Power Cost from Generation Charge due to the rising fuel price in the world market, according to SOLECO General Manager Jonathan Empeño.
SOLECO advises for consumers to save electricity to prevent paying high electricity bills. It also encourages all to pay online via PAYMAYA, GCASH and EC PAY.
