The Saint Joseph College Alumni Foundation set the stage for a memorable journey down memory lane as they recently hosted the highly anticipated annual Saint Joseph College High School (SJC HS) Grand Alumni Homecoming 2024 from February 9th to 11th. Themed “Carnival Extravaganza,” this year’s celebration coincided with the momentous 96th Founding Anniversary of Saint Joseph College, infusing the festivities with an extra layer of significance. Over the course of three days, the event buzzed with vibrant activities, kicking off with a heartwarming Thanksgiving Mass at the Maasin Cathedral. Excitement reached its peak with the eagerly awaited canvassing for the Alumni Homecoming Queen on the first day. The highlight of the second day was a parade featuring jubilarians, alumni queens, and creative float designs, culminating in a lively program at the Maasin City Gym , and concluding with an alumni gala and coronation night where winners were announced. On the third day, alumni gathered with their classmates and batchmates for a joyous Family Day, marking the perfect end to the grand festivities. Amidst cheers and applause from the spirited crowd, Maribel B. Caberte-Parungao of the Coral Jubilarians was crowned as the Alumni Homecoming Queen 2024. In the fiercely contested dance competition, the China Jubilarians emerged victorious with their enchanting theme “Enchanted Fairyland Ball,” followed by the Tin Jubilarians with their spine-chilling “Haunted Carnival Delights” performance, and the Silver Jubilarians with their mesmerizing “Masquerade” routine securing the third spot. The float competition was equally exhilarating, with the Coral Jubilarians clinching the coveted first-place trophy for their captivating display of “Cinco de Mayo”. The Tin Jubilarians secured the second spot with their impressive entry with “Haunted Carnival Delights” inspired by The Freak Show from American Horror Story, while the third place is the Pearl Jubilarian. Beyond the thrilling competitions, the event served as a heartwarming reunion for alumni, bringing together friends, family, and community members to reminisce and celebrate cherished memories. The Saint Joseph College Alumni Foundation continues to be the beacon of camaraderie and nostalgia, uniting generations of alumni in celebration of their alma mater’s rich legacy and enduring spirit.
