Eleven Southern Leyteños bag DOST scholarship

The Department of Science and Technology announced that of this year’s 8,067 recipients of the Science and Technology(S&T) Undergraduate Scholarships, 11 qualifiers come from Southern Leyte.
In the list shared by the Southern Leyte Provincial S & T Center, these are the DOST scholarship qualifiers in the province: Clyde Danna Cabahug, Mark Russell Caranzo, Angela Credo, RicciJillian Faelnar, Gabriel Geraldo, Jerome Kier, John Rhenzo Lor, Francis Olayvar, Jowelson Rangga, Maurice Angeli Solemne, and William Jose Viros.
The 11 qualifiers will be granted four to five years of college education with benefits such as monthly stipend, tuition fee subsidy, and book allowance. “The scholarship award takes effect in the First Semester of Academic Year 2021-2022,” DOST-SEI said in a press statement.
According to DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña, the scholarship programs “will help boost the number of our scientists and engineers needed to drive economic productivity and knowledge creation in the country.” (Jeric Olay)
