Klyde Ledamo, Bontoc’s pride

Klyde Masendo Ledamo, a 27-year-old pianist from Bontoc, Southern Leyte, has achieved global acclaim for his remarkable musical prowess and commitment to his craft. After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, he pursued further studies at Lynn Conservatory-Florida, where he obtained a Master of Music degree in 2019 and was honored with the prestigious “The Dean’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Education.” Klyde’s musical journey also took him to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for a summer academy in 2017, further enriching his skills and experiences.Recognized as both a chamber musician and soloist, Klyde has mesmerized audiences across Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America with his captivating performances. Notable accolades include securing 3rd Prize at the 2023 New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, which led to his debut at Carnegie Hall as a soloist with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Alongside his musical achievements, Klyde is deeply committed to community outreach, organizing fundraising concerts in his hometown, Bontoc and serving as an inspirational speaker at Filipino-American Association events in the United States. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Iowa, Klyde’s passion for music education and philanthropy exemplify his dedication to enriching lives through music.
