Divers clean-up drive

Friday, July 1st, after the end of the divers training, together with the Tourism Promotional Board Center of Southern Leyte headed by Nedgar Garvez, Tourism Association Southern Leyte represented by Phil McGuire, President; the Southern Leyte State University represented by Gladys Ludevese and Jerome Napala and the newly graduated Divemasters, Christian Louie Polo – freelance diver, Heminigildo ‘BongJ’ Jacobe – PDRRMO Southern Leyte, Roberto ‘Bertad’ Adanza Jr. – Tourism Promotion Board Center of Southern Leyte, Deonel ‘Apyong’ Beto – self-employed; Ryan Pan Tomol – Research Assistant/Scientific diver from Southern Leyte State Universit; and Kerby Gloria Altarejos MDRRMO staff Liloan, and staff of Sogod Bay Scuba Resort along with the staff of Plongeurs du Monde who trained the new Divemasters mobilized a clean up drive in a portion of a beach at Sogod Bay.
More than 20 people were helping to make the beach and the environment of Sogod Bay cleaner and more welcoming for tourists, to reduce pollution and thus preserve the life of the site and the future of the children who live there.
