Warrior divers hunt Crown of Thorns

Last August 27, 2021 Deonel Beto posted on Facebook a photo of ferocious Crown of Thorns starfish(COTs) ravaging Southern Leyte’s coral reefs. He reported that the mighty divers, including himself and Dag Hjalmar Navarrete, extracted more than 300 COTs in 3 dives and injected in more than 100 COTs in the 200 sq.m. area.
They again extracted more than 200 COTs and injected to more than 50 COTs in their 4th and 5th dive operations. Ryan Marine Biologist/Green Inc. joined them in their dives; while Rev. Fr. Bong Golo, Juliane Czarine from Maasin City, Vic Victor Lim Chua Jr. and William Chua donated for their meals and tank refills. They intend to continue their COT crusade at the Tagbak Marine Park. They would appreciate any support and donation from generous people, and be part of their “effort to save our marine ecosystem.”
